An Agency Story: An Interview with Cara Chatellier of Bubbly Creative

Bubbly Creative’s Founder & Creative Director, Cara Chatellier, recently joined host Russel Dubree for an episode of An Agency Story! Here’s a sneak peek of what she had to say:

Russel: What does Bubbly Creative do, and who do you do it for?

Cara: Bubbly Creative acts as an outsourced marketing department for service-based businesses. We primarily do it for female-owned service-based businesses, and we’re looking to niche down a little bit further for health and beauty.

Russel: Where did the name “Bubbly” come from?

Cara: I kind of have this bubbly personality. I’ve had it my whole life. It’s just such a great way to market, because you think bubbly, you think celebration, you think fun. I think marketing should be fun and exciting, and bubbles rise to the top, and they pop.

Russel: What pushed you to make the leap from freelancer to agency owner?

Cara: I was telling my clients brand consistency and cohesive messaging are incredibly important—and I realized I wasn’t practicing what I preached. So, I launched Bubbly Creative in February of 2020.

Russel: What does your client work look like today?

Cara: We dive so deep into who they are. Every time we start working with a client, we ask them a million questions and sit with them for two hours, ideally face-to-face. You have to do that to properly represent their brand.

Russel: Can you share a favorite project or client story?

Cara: One of our favorite clients is an OB/GYN practice north of Boston. Their website was so clinical, I could tell instantly that a man who’s never stepped foot in an OB/GYN office built it. We completely revamped it with real photos, real staff, and real stories because people are coming to you to deliver their children. That requires trust—and you can’t build that with stock photos.

Russel: What’s next for Bubbly?

Cara: I’d love to have a New York office and a Boston office — a place where people can go and feel like they’re with their team. I want to take on larger projects, have in-house photography and video, and work with clients we’re truly excited about.
