From Freelance to Founder: How Cara Chatellier Built Bubbly Creative

In this episode of An Agency Story, host Russel Dubree interviews Cara Chatellier, founder of Bubbly Creative—a boutique marketing agency serving women-led health and wellness businesses. Cara opens up about the bold moves, mindset shifts, and brand alignment that helped her grow from a freelancer in Madrid to a sought-after marketing partner with a thriving, all-women team.

The Unexpected Start

Cara’s marketing journey didn’t begin in an agency—it began with a one-way ticket to Madrid. After leaving a corporate job that felt misaligned, she embraced freelancing abroad, learning how to balance risk with creativity. Her time overseas gave her the freedom to build a business slowly, intentionally, and on her terms.

The Birth of Bubbly

The agency officially launched in February 2020 (yes—right before the pandemic). With a brand name rooted in her own bubbly personality, Cara set out to create an agency that felt warm, personal, and relationship-driven. From her visual branding to how she works with clients, authenticity is at the core of Bubbly Creative.

Clarity and Niching Down

After years of saying “yes” to everything, Cara realized that clarity creates momentum. She began to focus more intentionally on health and wellness businesses—especially women-led service providers—and found that doing work she believed in produced better results and better energy.

A Human-First Approach

Bubbly Creative is built on trust, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. Cara dives deep into her clients' brands, often forming long-term partnerships rooted in mutual respect and care. She’s passionate about using marketing to build genuine connection—not just clicks.

Looking Ahead

Cara shares her vision for Bubbly’s future: expanding her team, opening dedicated office spaces in Boston and New York, and continuing to work with mission-aligned brands that want to scale with strategy, not just volume.
